Andy Oberdick, a photographer for over 30 years, began his interest in photography at age 11, established a dark room in his home at age 15, started working in the photography department at the University of Michigan when only 17 and has been enjoying and perfecting his craft ever since. Andy visualizes the world through eyes gifted in visual composition, contrasts and cohesive patterns.
Andy operated the Palmer Studio in Ann Arbor, Michigan from 1971 until his semi-retirement in 2005. During those years, he concentrated mainly on commercial and portrait photography. After moving to West Branch, Michigan, Andy expanded his work to include extensive fine art imaging.
Andy, also designs and builds custom frames and furniture. Using diverse species of woods and styles, he will accommodate each client’s space and life style to uniquely design within context, function and budget.
His clients include: University of Michigan Medical, Dental and Pharmacy, Park-Davis/Warner Lambert/Pfizer, Domino’s, Edwards Brothers, University Micro Films, MDSI, hundreds of book covers, and writers’ biographies, corporate annual reports, catalogs, record albums and CD covers. Andy has photographed hundreds of weddings and high school senior portraits, as well as, numerous other community events.
